BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

J.P.Morgan Collateral Services sits within Trading Services business as part of the broader Securities Services organization. The Collateral Services products (i.e. Triparty and Collateral Management) provide value added services to institutional clients such as buy-side market participants, banks, broker dealers, etc. by facilitating liquidity, reducing counterparty risk, and improving operational efficiency.

The APAC Collateral Services Product Management team is responsible for the development and delivery of the collateral solutions for the markets in region to clients globally. The Product team is primarily located in Hong Kong along with another Product Manager based in Tokyo, Japan.

This Product Manager role will be based in Hong Kong and predominantly focus on managing on Collateral Management services as the global market is experiencing the most significant change in history due to implementation of the Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) with respect to the trading of OTC derivatives. These UMR regulatory changes are causing considerable legal, operational and commercial impact to our some of our clients. Therefore by provider J.P. Morgan Collateral Management agency service, our clients can concentrate on their core trading activities where J.P.Morgan would take care of their post-trade Initial, and Variation Margin operations. Whilst the role will primarily be focused on the Collateral Management side of the business, from time to time there will be the opportunity to get involved in the support of the Triparty services as well.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Objective: To assist in leading the strategic growth and development of the Collateral Services business in APAC, with a primary focus on Collateral Management along with support of the Triparty business. Experience in collateral management, securities trading or securities clearance would be beneficial.

Execution of the Collateral Services Product Strategy -

Strong understanding of:

• Client requirements and market dynamics (particularly in APAC)
• Product requirements for relevant markets: SWAT analysis
• Legal and Fee Negotiation and Product Due Diligence
• Evolving Regulatory landscape and potential impact to Business Strategy

Management and Leadership -

• Manage daily escalations and provide guidance to functional partners
• Understand the P&L including planning, forecasting, and reporting as well Product Commercial like pricing and expense management
• Apply product expertise in the development and roll-out of collateral solutions
• Provide client facing teams with technical support including marketing information related to new and existing product functionalities
• Manage projects/initiatives with proper governance and control
• Provide Product Thought Leadership through internal material and market publications

Influence and Decision Making -

• Work with partner functions to deliver the Product offering in a consistent way
• Act as the key Product sponsor for technology initiatives, providing guidance and day to day decision making to the program and project teams.
• Align decision making to defined strategy and evaluate impact and opportunities to 3-years rolling growth plan
• Define and publish Operating Guidelines and standard framework to deliver the Product to clients
• Ensure Product is appropriately marketed and positioned with new and existing clients

• Strategic Thinking - Focus on superior strategic/break-through thinking and problem solving abilities as it relates to the business and the delivery of the new product offering
• Relationship skills - ability to gain access to individuals within a wide range of functions in the organization; earn a reputation for integrity, intelligence and problem solving

EXPERIENCE
 

• 2 years in Financial Services particularly Securities Servicing Industry
• 2 years in Client Facing or Product Management
• Ideally have held a prior, relevant role in; Collateral Management, Securities Clearing, Derivatives Clearing, Securities Financing/Lending
• Knowledge of the Securities Financing market as well as Derivatives Margining
