CIO Investment Writer Chinese

- Are you good at getting the word out? Are you passionate about financial news and writing about it? We're looking for someone like that who can:


 

  • drive and curate high quality daily/regular content & communications in Mandarin, in line with global market developments & local investor relevance targeted at the affluent market
  • develop scheduled and recurring investment commentary and articles, and video content, using the Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office (CIO) house views published globally, 3rd party financial news providers, and big data analytics
  • take responsibility for and sign-off on CIO investment content that will be deployed on identified and approved UBS digital business platforms, and social media platforms in China
  • work closely with the CIO teams in Hong Kong and Singapore to ensure alignment of content to the UBS CIO house view
  • actively engage with the UBS China domestic business to increase relevance of content by addressing key China domestic client needs and behaviors, and other business objectives
  • maintain close collaboration with UBS’s Impact editorial team with strong feedback loop
  • ensure content complies with corporate standards and industry regulations, and effectively communicates and promotes CIO’s key investment messages
  • contribute to other CIO APAC team priorities including ad hoc initiatives, and reviewing and editing of text and materials in Mandarin

You will be located in Hong Kong and working in the CIO APAC Equities team. You will directly report to CIO Head APAC Equities.

The UBS Wealth Management Chief Investment Office (WM CIO) is the central investment strategy and research unit of UBS Wealth Management. The CIO team comprises of dedicated investment professionals aimed at catering to wealth management clients. The team produces asset allocation strategies, asset class research, and financial outlooks. We are present around the world with over 200 people helping to shape the house view on investments, and to communicate key investment messages to wealth management clients globally.


  • 7+ years of experience in the financial industry and/or financial journalism
  • proven superior writing skills targeting retail investors and financial intermediaries
  • a degree in finance, economics, journalism or a similar relevant discipline
  • spoken and written fluency in Mandarin; English communication skills a plus
  • familiar with investment and wealth management topics
  • strong understanding of topics and insights that would resonate well with local investors
  • the ability to communicate complex financial views and concepts in a simple, comprehensible manner
  • strong inclination about the influence of global and China-specific developments on the Chinese market
  • keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • understanding of broad China regulatory frameworks and requirements to ensure an effective risk culture
