Compliance V Business Manager - Vice President

Department Overview

The Compliance, AFC and GRAD Business Manager supports the Division in the region in managing all aspects of business management and drives business initiatives and projects. The Business Manager must be able to consolidate the results of a diverse set of activities, whilst managing the ongoing relationship with the line and the Global Business Management team in order to collate and validate required output and synthesize relevant business insights for senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support across APAC Compliance, AFC and GRAD for all aspects of business administration, strategy and controls, including business initiatives, project support and regional controls and reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage business administration processes and controls for the region including: Cost and Headcount management, Reporting management, Procurement and Expense controls and approval management, Business Continuity.
  • Interface with Global Business Management team, Global and Regional infrastructure partners and APAC COO; and ensure timely information flow to stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on financial matters to Divisions’ senior management, COO and other stakeholders based on understanding of governing rules, policies and procedures.
  • Cost and Headcount Planning and Forecasting: Provide APAC regional inputs for Global delivery and development of financial targets aligned to strategy.
  • Work with Finance to derive annual plans for country level financial reporting and planning in the region.
  • Transform financial and other managerial data (ie. costs, FTE and other stats) into business intelligence that enhances effectiveness of management and business processes and decisions.
  • Develop and produce appropriate Management reports and analysis to present to the Divisions’ senior leadership team.
  • Support APAC Compliance, AFC and GRAD team heads and COO with regional integration and implementation of global strategic initiatives and projects. For system enhancements and development, coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing as appropriate.
  • Facilitate process enhancements and overall organizational efficiency with up-to-date awareness and continuous evaluation of business changes and their impact on Business Management and COO.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to global guidelines, governance standards, tools, processes and controls.
  • Support APAC Compliance, AFC and GRAD COO in all other operational matters.

Key Skill set required:

  • Technical knowledge of Finance; and practical experience of working in Finance and COO divisions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Passion and proven ability to work with management information, financial figures and mass data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational and co-ordination skills, with ability to share and receive information, knowledge and expertise within a virtual team environment
  • Self-starter; self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • A good team player with ability to work in a cross-country, cross-functional and multi-cultural environment
  • A positive and flexible approach required to operate in a constantly changing environment
  • Detail oriented – ability to ensure high quality and consistency in the deliverables produced
  • Broad understanding of Compliance, AFC and GRAD functions
  • Deep knowledge of DB Group/COO financial processes and systems
