Compliance AML Risk Mgmt Senior Analyst, AVP


The Compliance Anti Money Laundering Risk Management Senior Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for recommending/establishing internal procedures to prevent money laundering and assist in all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team. The overall objective is to utilize established disciplinary knowledge to identify inconsistencies in data or result and formulate strategic recommendations on policies, procedures, and practices.

This position is to assist with the managing of HK and Macau AML Compliance related matters within the HK and Macau ICG AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) team. The role will include the assessment, analysis and implementation of applicable regulatory changes and the provision of support to stakeholders across Hong Kong and Macau. The role will focus on Trade AML and KYC advisement. The key objectives of the position will be to ensure compliance with all relevant HK and Macau AML Compliance regulations and Citi Policies.


  • Assist to identify and analyse the impact of AML regulatory changes that may affect HK and Macau
  • Communicate any new AML requirements and assist the business to implement them
  • Facilitate the preparation of information for interactions with regulators
  • Conduct Trade AML investigations
  • Review KYC profiles and advise business on applicable AML risk criteria
  • Assist with AML Compliance coverage issues for all applicable legal vehicles
  • Update the maintain AML related policies, procedures internal systems and databases for compliance with HK and Macau AML regulations and requirements
  • Identify, vet and address potential risks or escalated issues with the assistance of functional partners and key stakeholders
  • Utilize information from regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas
  • Analyze comparative data, prepare and present reports related to AML risk assessments, and monitor AML related issues and escalations
  • Develop approaches/action plans to compliance and control issues by weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations
  • Create and develop AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) standards and policies
  • Advise and recommend a plan of action for management based on analysis of risk information
  • Assist in coaching and training new recruits
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification
  • In-depth knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Sanctions requirements applicable to FIs in Hong Kong and Macau
  • Have a good understanding of AML risks
  • Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal and the ability to communicate confidently with different stakeholders
  • Consistently de he ability to work well under pressure as well as an ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail and appropriate organizational skills
  • Excellent judgment and assessment skills. Proactively utilizing personal curiosity to identify and research issues using a balanced risk-based approach
  • Self-starter


  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
