Construction Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the Civil Engineering Team and associated sub-contractors to  carry out all necessary construction works efficiently, safety and in a cost-effective manner.
• Prepare, execute and comply with budgets established for the multi-disciplinary  engineering projects and the ongoing engineering works at the site.
• Supervise a team of site staff to ensure that the day-to-day construction activities at  the site is executed efficiently, safely and effectively
• Responsible for overall day to day construction activities at the site
• Handle a series of multi-disciplinary engineering projects, in accordance with the  Contract and international best practice, where appropriate, including the appointment of in  house and/or external engineering and environmental consultants as required
• Manage quality control in accordance with the Contract and established procedures
• Prepare, issue, review and award tenders and contracts for the supply of equipment,  materials, and engineering works in accordance with Company Regulations
• Develop and update on a regular basis work programme to ensure the successful  execution of engineering works on time, to meet the operating needs of the site
• Prepare project reports for the Senior Construction Manager/Project Manager at  frequencies to be determined by the Senior Construction Manager/Project Manager
• Prepare reports on construction aspects and attend meetings with Government Department and the Independent Consultant
• Ensure the construction activities are in accordance with the developed ISO14001
• Environmental Management System and OHSAS18001 Safety Management System.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree holder in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in construction management of chemical, petrochemical, power plants, environmental plants or other heavy industries or infrastructure projects
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in international construction environment with knowledge in compulsory requirements in terms of Quality and HSE Protection and field construction management which at least 3 years of experience working as Construction Manager, acting on behalf of the international Main Contractor
