Salary: $17,240per month 

Entry Requirements: The applicant should have (a) (i) a diploma or higher certificate in natural or applied science or a related subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; or (ii) a recognised diploma from an agricultural or forestry school/college, or equivalent, and one year’s practical experience in farming or countryside/flora/wildlife management; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and (c) preferably computer knowledge or experience in data processing and website design. 
(Note : ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.) 

Duties: A Contract Field Officer is mainly deployed on (a) performing duties relating to plant and pesticides licensing and law enforcement; (b) handling application of phytosanitary certification service and performing phytosanitary inspection; (c) assisting in survey projects / education and promotion activities / compiling of publications and preparing relevant technical documents; (d) preparing the data of various formats to be incorporated into various database systems; and (e) assisting in updating database systems and website contents. 

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on 1 year non-civil service contract terms. 

Fringe Benefits Rest days, public holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. 14 days paid annual leave will be granted but there will be no gratuity.
