Salary: $46,180 - $68,960 per month; depending on the relevancy of experience
Entry Requirements: Candidates should -
(a) (i) be admitted as a solicitor in a recognized jurisdiction as stipulated under Section 2A and Schedule 2 of the Legal Officers Ordinance; or
(ii) be a barrister with one year's professional experience since attaining the right to full practice in a recognized jurisdiction as stipulated under Section 2A and Schedule 2 of the Legal Officers Ordinance;
(b) have obtained Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note]; and
(c) be fluent in English and Cantonese.
Note: 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE held before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties: The successful candidate will be required to
(a) advise on legal issues which arise in the insolvency of corporations and individuals;
(b) prosecute offences under the relevant legislation;
(c) conduct directors' disqualification work;
(d) appear in court on behalf of the Official Receiver in relation to insolvency cases; and
(e) conduct legal research including insolvency related law and amending legislation.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.
Fringe Benefits A gratuity will be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The gratuity, plus any contribution by the Government towards a mandatory provident fund as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave or paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. 12 days paid annual leave will be granted under a continuous contract of employment for every 12 months.

(ii) results in LLB, CPE, PCLL, Law Society Final and Bar Final examinations listing the grading of the subjects taken (with copies of transcripts and certificates);
(iii) exact date and place of admission or call (with copies of supporting documents); and
(iv) employment records with detailed description of duties.
(c) Applicants who are not invited for interview within 8 weeks from the closing date for application may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
