Core Business Services - Legal - Legal Counsel (Contract)


We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join EY Greater China Legal Team on a fixed term contract, to carry out the following responsibilities:


  • Help manage and review engagement contracts and other commercial agreements, including MSA/LCAs and IT licensing.
  • Provide timely and pro-active legal advice on a range of commercial issues, including data privacy, intellectual property, cross border issues.
  • Advise service lines on legal and regulatory risks associated with engagements.
  • Work closely with Compliance team to ensure compliance with new laws and regulations.
  • Provide support on corporate transactions and acquisitions.
  • Oversee company secretarial matters.

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  • University law degree and admitted to practice as a lawyer in Hong Kong.
  • 8 to 10 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally including both international law firm and in-house experience with an international financial services organization.
  • Solid commercial/corporate experience with strong drafting skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness, understanding of business, corporate governance and regulatory issues.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Flexible team player, strategic thinker, solutions-oriented, problem solver.
