Corporate Affairs Manager, JAPAC


The jobholder will be primarily accountable for implementing the regional corporate affairs strategy for both corporate communications and product communications, working in collaboration with the JAPAC regional brand and cross functional teams as well as country teams.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Product Brand communications planning and execution including multi-channel execution of campaigns in support of disease awareness campaigns
  • Manage PR agency in line with employee communications, product brand communications and corporate reputation requirements
  • Corporate and product communications, including management of media contacts and handling JAPAC media enquiries
  • Co-ordination of Amgen Foundation local initiatives, staff volunteering and local philanthropic efforts
  • Management of issues/crisis response

Candidates should have experience of working with the media, be able to build strong credible relationships with senior leaders and have experience of social media channels and working in complex matrix organizations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eligible to work in Hong Kong


  • At least 5 years of relevant experience and proven track record in regional corporate communications, ideally gained in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Previous experience working in an international communications agency, specifically on corporate communications and/or healthcare sector
  • Broad communications experience, with depth
  • Demonstrated business acumen, and proven track record of advising executives
  • Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills
  • Strategic approach to communication and program development
  • Excellent written and verbal command of English; proficiency in other languages an advantage
  • Demonstrated exposure in designing and executing social media communication strategies

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/ biotech industry
  • Knowledge of digital and interactive media and how to apply it to internal communications
  • Cultural understanding
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including presentations on complex business issues is required
  • Able to interprets customer needs to identify potential opportunities
  • Good interpersonal skills and collaborates well across functions
  • MS PowerPoint and Excel to intermediate level
  • Project/change management involving diverse, multi-national stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of social media monitoring and management of social channels is required
  • Strong understanding of digital across key channels including, web, social, mobile, SEO, SEM, and off domain
