The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Department is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies, reflect our values and support the communities where we do business. The Department includes Global Philanthropy (GP), Global Government Relations and Public Policy, the JPMorgan Chase Institute, and Sustainable Finance.

JPMorgan Chase CR is looking to fill an Associate role in their Global Philanthropy team which will contribute to the management, development and implementation of the firm's philanthropic programs in China, Hong Kong S.A.R., South Korea and Japan (Coverage Markets).

The successful candidate will be based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Co-Head of Global Philanthropy in Asia Pacific. The candidate will be responsible for developing and managing philanthropic programs that advance the firm's philanthropic ambitions in the coverage markets. Duties will include, but are not limited to, those outlined below:

Key responsibilities

Market Coverage and Strategy Development

  • Proactively researching and identifying needs and opportunities that align with the firm's corporate responsibility strategy in Coverage Markets
  • Responding to social, political and economic changes that may impact the firm's national/local programs and/or our broader reputation as a result of our philanthropic activities

Designing and Planning Programs
  • Sourcing and structuring partnerships with leading organizations to address needs in the communities we serve
  • Conducting effective due diligence and risk analysis to ensure that the firm's resources and reputation are protected
  • Developing and presenting strong program proposals through national, regional and global approvals processes

Implementing and Managing Programs
  • Managing ongoing programs with partners to ensure that work is delivered, monitored and measured to achieve agreed milestones and impact
  • Building relationships with relevant stakeholders internally and externally to ensure that the work is well positioned, relevant and visible to the national and regional agendas
  • Responsible for managing Cybergrant, the online grant management system

Analytics, Process Management and Improvement
  • Working with team members to identify the highest priority topics to undertake data analysis on in order to make more informed decisions about future programming
  • Working with team members including within the grants management function to support the process of making a high volume of grants across different themes, geographies and levels of complexity
  • Identifying team processes that can be improved and work with team members to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency
  • Supporting the governance, grant management, impact evaluation and other operational processes of the Global Philanthropy function including preparing briefing materials, budget tracking and reporting, impact tracking and reporting, taking meeting minutes and producing management decks

Knowledge Management
  • Support research, market and portfolio scanning efforts and review of program evaluations to help refine programmatic best practices and lessons learned, especially from key APAC markets that can be shared and communicated more broadly
  • Contribute to white papers, presentations, webinars, blog posts, etc. that highlight the lessons learned, best practices and insights stemming from APAC's grant portfolio review

Communication and Events
  • Help keep internal and external stakeholders informed on the firm's Philanthropic activities and programs by drafting communication materials
  • Coordinate updates with the global CR communications team and the local market-based communications team
  • Support program event organization and coordination

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, international development, grant making or related field in sizable global organization
  • Relevant experience/knowledge of Coverage Markets, and in the area of labor market, workforce development, jobs and skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese a plus
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and on complex issues, from field workers to senior civil servants and J.P. Morgan business leaders
  • Self-motivated and ability to work both in a team as well as in independent context
  • Strong research, analytical, and project management skills
  • Maintains attention to detail and ability to multi-task prioritize efficiently
  • Ability to travel internationally
