What you will do

Reporting to Regional Financial Controller CFS, you will be responsible for statutory compliance activities, including coordination with the business operations. You will have overall responsibility for preparing the country financial statements, and the monitoring of the overall compliance with Johnson Controls corporate accounting policies, procedures and timelines applicable to the country legal entities. You will act as ultimate coordinator and contact with external auditors for all engagements associated to the country. You are expected to have the technical acumen and interpersonal presence to function as strategic consultant to top level management, playing a critical leadership role in business planning and consulting regarding operations in the country.

How you will do it

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and report statutory financial statements for all country legal entities;
  • Design and implement internal control structure to comply with statutory and legal regulations in the country;
  • Monitor the compliance with corporate accounting policies, as well as defining those specifically applicable to local business;
  • Ensure compliance with Local GAAP, and reporting of differences with US GAAP;
  • Develop and maintain the BU ERP statutory reporting template in compliance with local requirements;
  • Perform month-end closing activities relating to corporate functions.

Audit Coordination:

  • Act as overall audit engagement coordinator for all country audit work performed by the appointed external auditors;
  • Perform key role in negotiating annual audit fees, finally approved by corporate Audit Committee;
  • Determine audit fees allocation by BU and by plant;
  • Define and monitor execution of audit plan, in conjunction with external auditors and BU controllers.

Holding Corporate Accounting:

  • Prepare and report to Headquarters the holding companies’ financial statements, when applicable;
  • Act as ledger owner for all ledgers uploaded;
  • Prepare CFS cost forecast, local allocations to BU and Corporate, month-end closing activities and variance to forecast reporting.

Business Planning/Consulting to BU:

  • Coordinate with Tax department activities related to Tax planning projects;
  • Develop and sign off projects business case, and provides recommendations to functional leaders;
  • Develop business initiatives oriented to cost savings efforts and improve financial and accounting processes;
  • Coordinate the implementation of corporate initiatives deployed in the country.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance plus professional CPA qualification;
  • Minimum 6 years related working experience
  • Previous experience in international audit firms and financial reporting in American companies;
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, plant operations, forecasting system;
  • Good command of both written & spoken English and Mandarin;
  • Effective presentation, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Customer-focused, independent and a good team player.

Preferred

  • Exposure to Central Finance functions, SAP and Hyperion (HFM).
