Client Details

Our client is a luxury retail conglomerate with specialty stores selling designer label luxury goods in Hong Kong and China. Under their innovation & creative department, they are now looking for a editor to create lifestyle related content and publish on their online touchpoints/ social media channels.

Description





Content Creation, Innovation & Management

  • To write, and edit all multi-media editorial and website text into English, Simplified Chinese, ensuring nuance is retained for the luxury fashion market in APAC
  • To develop contributor and write weekly editorial content in English and work with a translation house for Chinese copy (i.e. Simplified Chinese)
  • To create a trademark tone of voice in English and ensure content is relevant, informative and inspiring for individual market, while remaining on brand
  • To assist on creating and managing an international network of first-class contributors, particularly writers or bloggers from China
  • To work with current English glossary and extend and refine to create a consistent house style. To take leadership and responsibility for updating and ensuring it is maintained across all communications
  • To work with a translator to coordinate, manage and execute the Simplified-Chinese translation of all site information, from company pages to Terms & Conditions, marketing initiatives, customer communication, online shopping policies and e-commerce functionality
  • To ensure all English & Chinese-language editorial is timely, informative and relevant, and works to achieve seasonal and programme targets including sell-through, traffic, customer acquisition and retention, and distribution/syndication




China Content

  • To review and edit the translated editorial content originally in Simplified Chinese which has a specific focus on 'China' and 'China cool,' that relates to the eCommerce business and ensure that this content is relevant, informative and inspiring for that market, as well as the overseas audience
  • To monitor take-up and feedback of the China content, its presentation and the various mediums for delivery to gradually develop a unique content platform for that market as the business scales
  • To monitor the Chinese online fashion environment, social media, trends, innovations and competitors and use this information to develop newness and to ensure The brand retains a leadership positioning as the fashion authority and creative innovator in China




Social Media

  • To maintain an overview of interactive editorial with China. To work alongside Social Media team/agency to ensure that our coverage is not just talking to but interacting with customers and readers
  • To develop innovative and highly useable ways of distributing content through social media, blogs and other online channels




Strategic Planning and Positioning

  • To assist on detailing a content strategy for the website and online store that soft-sells merchandise and positions The brand as the authority on international fashion and lifestyle for China, ensuring constant traffic to the website and online store
  • To assist the Head of Editorial to define story angles across stories for all business units. Conduct detailed research, identify reference and develop detailed briefs for the contributors






Profile
  • Prior English editorial / writing / content creation experience gained from fashion/beauty/lifestyle magazine or online media
  • Native English speaker and writer
  • Proactive and driven team player who works well in a fast-paced organization
  • Works well under deadlines with attention to details
  • Good communications skills and works well with internal and external stakeholders
