Data Science Manager  (50-80K)
 

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and coach a team of data scientists (at different levels) to support various aspects of the business with data analytics
• Plan and prioritize the roadmap of data science projects to realize business strategy / needs for delivery
• Build predictive models using machine learning and deep learning algorithms
• Provide thought leadership in deriving actionable insights from data
• Present customer insights recommendations to senior management and business units to win buy-in
• Execute, manage and review complex data science projects in agile manner
• Collaborate with IT to propose appropriate data science technology considerations
• Recruit and train data scientists with technical capabilities uplifted

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or relevant discipline
• At least 8 years relevant experience in data science areas
• Hands-on experience in machine learning and deep learning algorithms
• Proven track record in building data analytics applications to realize enterprise value at scale with broad coverage of use cases across the value chain
• Exposure to a wide spectrum of big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, TensorFlow), database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Graph databases), programming frameworks (e.g. Python, R, Scala, Java), and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, QlikSense)
• Solid experience in big data strategy and data management (e.g. GPU cluster management, secure and privacy-protecting data sharing techniques)
• Data analytics experience in different service industries (e.g. telecom, financial services, e-Commerce, customer loyalty) will be a plus
• A business mindset
• Strong organizational and problem-solving ability
• Supervisory / people leading experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese

Data Scientist   (30-50K)

Key Responsibilities

• Work with complex and large Telco data sets
• Apply advanced analytical methods to solve difficult and non-routine business problems
• Assist Data Scientists in building machine learning models
• Gather data from multiple sources and extract business insights
• Work closely with cross-function teams to achieve end-to-end data driven solutions
• Data visualization using different reporting software, such as Tableau and Qlik

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, bioinformatics, economics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, and industrial engineering)
• Experience in working with Big Data and deriving analytical findings and insights for a variety of audiences is an advantage
• Must be proficient in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, C++, etc.)
• A fast learner to learn new technology from research papers
• Experience in working with Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop and Spark) is definitely a plus
• Effective communication skill to understand business challenges and requirements while clearly elaborate the data analysis and mining tactic to help the business
• Ability to use common sense to think independently and think out of the box, strong problem solving and analytical capabilities combined with critical thinking and research capability
• Ability to work in a time critical environment and to meet deadlines
