Database and Applications Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in development and maintenance phases of projects with Oracle, MS-SQL databases, middleware in a distributed computing environment
  • Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Oracle Applications Express (APEX) applications
  • Involved in  projects, contributing in database/application support, installation, integration as well as subsequent administration
  • Responsible for enhancing the functionality of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms
  • Application development and maintenance
  • Provide business-as-usual support for application systems in areas of monitoring, tuning, backups and patching
  • Create system and technical documentation
  • Participate in ad-hoc tasks as and when assigned by his/her Supervisor

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in Computing, IT or Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
  • At least 3+ year database experience in an enterprise production environment.
  • Customer-oriented with good troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of automation of data import & export
  • Hands-on development experience in Oracle Applications Express (APEX) 5.1 would be an advantage.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and hard-working
  • Strong knowledge of
        - Oracle 10g/11g/12c,
        - Oracle Data Integrator
        - Oracle HTTP server (OHS)
            -  Business Intelligence (BI) and ETL
        - Weblogic
        - SSL certificates
        - Experience in OBIEE, Star Schema design & optimization
            - Working knowledge of programming in SQL, PLSQL.
            - Both Windows / Linux environments
