Deployment Planning Coordinator

Job Summary

The Deployment Planning and Coordination (DPC&C) team within the Production Operations division is seeking a Deployment Planning Coordinator (DPC). The DPC is responsible for owning the project planning and coordination of all phases and activities involved in the release of systems, software and network infrastructure into the SWIFT Production environment. The role requires providing project management oversight from early deployment specification and overseeing projects through closeout for planning and coordination, reporting, forecasting, and implementation.


  • Focusing on the scheduling, coordination, support, communication and end-to-end oversight of deployments in the Production environment
  • Manage the overall project site and data within Production Operations
  • Support and advise on schedule performance, forecasts, risks, tracking, analyzing and reporting project schedule data ensuring that issues and risks are managed and understood to mitigate any scope deliverables and schedule delays.
  • Establish, monitor and input activities, relationships, and resources into scheduling package to support a resource loaded schedule
  • Responsible for project reporting to include preparing necessary status reports, preparing project data for project meetings, and ensuring timely collection and interpretation of schedule data within the project database. Inform, network and interface with all relevant parties on a needs-basis ensuring they are aware of project progress.
  • Responsible for working with the project team and creating the detailed deployment strategy and Deployment Plan and send refreshed information for assigned deployments to the project team and key stakeholders on an recurring basis
  • Where necessary, facilitate design and planning sessions, and coordinate with teams to ensure ongoing progress toward scheduled deliverables. When needed, facilitate "Go/NoGo" discussions with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead virtual teams in developing needed presentations for project leadership to present technology options, as well as recommendations for risk mitigations and phased release plans
  • Provide ongoing assistance with delivery of project artefacts, as required by the Project Management Office in order to satisfy standard audit controls
  • Manage risks and make sure the project stays on track via pro-active management of the project and by taking corrective actions to resolve cross-departmental conflicts
  • As assigned, participate in planning of periodic Service Continuity / Disaster Recovery exercises to test the DR capabilities with respect to secondary systems and sites
  • Work closely with Change and Configuration Management team to stay current on all change, configuration and internal controls standards and processes. Provides feedback on ways to improve relevant processes and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/engineering/science/MBA or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant IT/ Project Management experience within the area of IT product development and/or area of similar complexity
  • Prior experience dealing with distributed teams with contributing teams located in various continents and time-zones
  • Good understanding of Project Management principles
  • Relevant experience in implementing highly scalable, high-performance secure data-center focused applications is preferable
  • Prior software development lead or project management experience is preferable
  • Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills with strong attention to detail
