Main job purpose

    • Facilitating planning workshops with Client stakeholders

    • Facilitating kick-off and planning workshops with the Clients’ external partners

    • Facilitating design reviews in partnership with the Clients’ external partners

    • Facilitating large scale workshops as necessary

    • Authoring scopes of work for design team contracts and gain buy-in from Client stakeholders

    • Issuing and administering contracts relating to design team deliverables

    • Defining and tracking deliverables from various parties

    • Tracking of cost, schedule, progress and scope for design team deliverables

    • Providing health reporting on cost, schedule, scope and progress of design team deliverables

    • Building optimal design teams from matrixed Client stakeholders and the strategic procurement of their external partners

    • Change management for design contracts

    • Facilitate technical decisions in-line with project needs

    • Coordinate design activities with procurement and construction

    • Efficiently manage meetings

    • Provide clear and transparent communication with all Client stakeholder and their external partners

    • Guide the issuance of engineering information to the right party, at the right time, in the right format

  • Responsibilities
  • Design Deliverables Tracker

  • Cost, schedule and progress reports in relation to design works

  • Workshop minutes and action tracker

  • Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently, on time and to budget

  • Project delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment

  • The project team is led effectively

  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and their external partners

  • General line management responsibilities (where appropriate) are effectively discharged

  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon

  • The internal financial status of all projects is effectively monitored

  • Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained

Skills and Qualifications

  • >5 years project or design management experience and in a leading role.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main design or project management concepts, tools and techniques

  • Experience of leading commissions for medium to large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity

  • Excellent knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering

  • People management experience, particularly in the context of managing a team delivering a project

  • Experience of managing the financial aspects of a project
