Design Manager

VOCATIONAL TRAINING COUNCIL

External Relations Office

Major Duties:
(a) To lead and supervise a team of senior designer/designers to provide quality design and production services to support the publicity and promotion needs of the External Relations Office (ERO) and the Vocational Training Council (VTC);
(b) To oversee and support the design and production of advertising materials, promotion collaterals, publications, event materials, staff magazines and photography for communication use;
(c) To oversee and support production of multi-media contents, videos and website materials;
(d) To advise on art direction and oversee the work of external suppliers in outsourced production projects, including shooting of footage, photography, video editing and graphic design;
(e) To develop and manage the photo and video resource library of the ERO; and
(f) To work closely with functional teams of the ERO and ensure design deliverables are in line with the brand guidelines of the VTC and Member Institutions.

Requirements:
(a) A relevant recognized degree or equivalent;
(b) At least 5 years’ relevant work experience at the executive level in branding design, advertising, graphic and digital design;
(c) Proven work experience on large scale marketing campaigns;
(d) Solid experience in website and digital contents development, programming knowledge in HTML5, Actionscript, Javascript, ASP.NET, PHP & CSS is an advantage;
(e) Professional skills in photography and video production;
(f) Strong computer skills in using Mac and major design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash & Dreamweaver) and other related design software; good knowledge in artwork and print production;
(g) Good organizational, communication, problem-solving and time management skills; and
(h) Good proficiency in Chinese and English.

Notes:
(1) The post is in the rank of “Senior Officer".

(3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to present portfolio when attending the interview and sit for a written test.
(4) The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours.
