Position title

Development physiotherapist

Job summary

The role will report to the Senior Manager, Player Welfare & Medical and General Manager,
Physiotherapy and will be responsible for physiotherapy management of national players, as
well as delivery of group and individual based rehabilitation programs.

Specific responsibilities

  • To provide evidence-based physiotherapy and rehabilitation to National players, primarily
players within development and national age-grade programs, including physiotherapy coverage
of training sessions and international tours
  • To design and deliver individual and group rehabilitation sessions for injured players
  • To complete physiotherapy assessments, including use of relevant outcome measures
  • To work closely with other National physiotherapists and Strength & Conditioning coaches to
provide effective strategies for rehabilitation and prevention of injuries
  • To monitor player wellness and injury status and provide reports for discussion by the
management and medical teams
  • To work closely with a multidisciplinary team of support staff, including regular communication
with rugby coaches, managers, doctors and other relevant staff
  • To complete appropriate screening processes for players, and assist with screening for other
national squads, as required
  • To maintain thorough clinical records and input screening and injury surveillance data
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments as required

Your profile

  • Degree holder in Physiotherapy/ Sports Science/ Sports Physiotherapy or Sports Medicine, or
proof of equivalent experience
  • Current 1-2 years post-graduate experience
  • Licensed to practice physiotherapy in Hong Kong
  • Holder of HKID/ Hong Kong work visa
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • Previous experience of working in a national rugby team or elite athlete environment
  • Current Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sports (PHICIS) Level 2 qualification or equivalent
