Director, COO for e-business

Our client, a large and reputable financial company is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join their Electronic Business as a Director level Chief Operation Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Head of e-business to manage cost budgets and drive cost efficiencies, and to ensure that all processes for the e-business unit are standardized and adhered to
  • Identify both strategic and tactical opportunities to increase e-business volume and manage risk within the business
  • Provide support to senior management, including presentations, business analysis, workshops, set agenda for management meetings, reporting, pre-approval review, and process tracking, etc.
  • Formulate policy and implement strategies to improve business performance, tracking headcounts, management structure, risk and regulatory changes, communication plans, and new business initiatives
  • Manage and monitor progress of key projects to ensure timely deliverables, within budget, and meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Keep up-to-date on all key industry-wide Fintech/Digital innovation, including participation in relevant seminar/conferences/events
  • Lead regionally some of the Digitalization initiatives directly related to electronic business activities
  • Contributor, where relevant, in some other Digitalization/Industrialization not directly related to e-business
  • Supervision of Asia e-business platform to ensure compliance with regulatory and firm wide controls
  • Liaison with other business lines to enhance cooperation and increase overall firm value through cross selling
  • Provide technical advice, skills coaching and guidance to team members and assist to resolve operational issues
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure all requirements and/or feedbacks are taken into action, any changes affecting the market are effectively conveyed
  • Business Analysis to identify and solve complex business problems or gaps and assist in driving the necessary resulting change
  • Develop a concise business plan with clear identification of issues, required actions, costs and benefits
  • Build good relationships with cross functional teams, either domestically or in different locations
  • Perform and resolve ad hoc tasks as and when required by management


  • Ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 to 10 years working experience in large banks or e-commerce companies. A degree holder in Business Administration, Finance or relevant disciplines
  • A matured self-starter with excellent logical analytical skills and strategic thinking who can structure decision making process, and a self-motivator who is able to interact well with people at all levels and has the ability to manage uncertainty and achieve objectives in a regularly changing environment while maintaining structure to decision making activities
  • Good presentation, strong project management and communication skills, both in written and oral
  • Fluency in English, Putonghua and Cantonese is essential
  • Must be able to read and write Chinese
