The incumbent will oversee the financial and management reporting function for Prudential Hong Kong’s Life and General Insurance business. Lead the team to provide quality financial information and analysis for business planning and decision-making purposes and for compliance with regulatory and group requirements.

Job Description :

  • Lead the financial and management reporting team in maintaining and improving an effective reporting framework for Prudential Hong Kong’s Life and General Insurance business.
  • Provide timely & accurate reports and analysis to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, analysts) in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations, internal governance and Group policies.
  • Analyze financial impacts of new business initiatives and changes in market environment. Ensure key financial KPIs and underlying business performance are closely monitored and managed.
  • Lead the annual financial budget cycle in a timely and effective manner, together with on-going monitoring of business performance against targets.
  • Identify and help manage financial risks. Maintain and strengthen financial control procedures and processes to maintain financial integrity.
  • Lead or support local change and improvement initiatives (such as preparation for IFRS17, RBC or automation of finance processes). Lead or support participation in regional Finance initiatives with respect to changes in accounting policies, financial analysis, system & process enhancements and etc.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and group governance, and maintain tax efficiency of the business.
  • Manage and develop the team with knowledge transfer, coaching, motivation and care. Represent the company in local professional bodies.

Job Responsibility :

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline.
  • Qualified accountant with solid knowledge in the financial metrics of life and general insurance business.
  • Minimum of 12 years working experience with minimum 5 years at managerial level.
  • Proven success in driving changes in a Finance team; project management experience is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of the insurance business and financials.
  • Solid knowledge of common Finance (accounting) systems.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical skill and ability to make sound and consistent business judgements and decisions.
  • Ability to translate numbers and analyses into a compelling and concise “story", both orally and written. Experience in communicating withsenior management level.
  • Good stakeholder management at all levels; ability to influence; effective and tactful in resolving conflicts.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
