Founded in 1969, the German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools with a German and an English stream. With over 200 staff members we provide a dual language education to a multinational student body of more than 1300 students, leading to various international exams. We are inviting applications from candidates for the following position:

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION & MARKETING

The Director of Communication and Marketing works with senior management of GSIS to develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive and consistent school wide internal and external communication and marketing strategy. This role strives to enhance and strengthen GSIS’ excellent reputation and ensures transparent, coherent, effective and timely communication to all stakeholders. The position reports to the COO and forms part of the senior management of GSIS.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a communication template process and approach that effectively engages and interacts with the school community.
  • Define state-of-the art communication structures to enable effective teacher-parent communication.
  • Drive effective communication of the school management and the Boards to parents and the public.
  • Define and articulate GSIS marketing strategy together with a clear branding positioning.
  • Identify effective marketing channels and develop information and marketing material.
  • Manage the Communications, Marketing and Fundraising team and supervise all communication channels internally and externally.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Min 10 years of experience in communication and marketing, with work experience in academia a plus.
  • University degree in public relations, communication or a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • English language fluency and German working knowledge required.
  • Open minded, adaptable and able to deal with a broad spectrum of different stakeholders.
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • On time delivery and anticipatory management of outgoing communications.
  • Team management and stakeholder coordination experience.
