Director of Estates

Job Ref.DE/EO/1117

Reporting to the Vice President (Administration), the Director of Estates oversees the strategic planning of the land use, capital and development project and facility management of the University to support its vision and missions. The appointee will lead a team of professionals to perform the various estates-related functions including campus planning, management of capital and development projects, additions, alterations, repairs and maintenance works, student hostels and staff quarters, sport facilities, transportation, facilities and associated logistic arrangements of the campus and its premises to ensure safe, efficient and effective utilization of the University’s space, physical and financial resources. He/she will represent the University in dealing with Government authorities, statutory bodies, organizations, consultants and the University community in fulfilling the duties of the Estate Office.

Applicants should have a recognized degree and relevant professional qualification in either architecture, engineering, building or surveying with substantial senior management experience in large-scale facilities management as well as managing development project works in sizable organizations; strong leadership; excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with members of University-level committees, government officials and stakeholders of the University; deep understanding and appreciation of environmental protection and sustainable development as well as proficiency in both written and spoken English. Understanding of the strategic and operational issues and challenges in University management and administration would be advantage. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits, and where applicable, housing benefits.
