Director of Security, Asia

Christie’s is looking for a Director of Security, Asia. They are a strategic thinker, who can positively influence and improve safer business practice, deliver a secure operating platform, whilst navigating the complexity of the business within the at times, ambiguity of its operating model.

Their role and responsibilities will be to:

  •  ensure the safe and secure delivery of Christie’s business within the Asia region,
  •  think strategically, continually seeking to improve to the effectiveness of Christie’s process and procedure,
  •  deliver effective security and safety solutions in the high value art and luxury goods sectors,
  •  support business development, planning and delivery across the region, providing risk assessment with recommendations; physical and technical security solutions; and incident response,
  •  develop effective relationships with regional Managing Directors, Specialists and other stakeholders,
  •  deliver Christie’s health, safety and fire strategies,
  •  oversee the safety of international and local colleagues travelling into and within the region,
  •  coordinate and support the management of critical incidents, whilst providing business continuity training,
  •  maintain and manage a budget, continually seeking cost efficiencies,
  •  develop security capability, participating in global project activity,
  •  lead a small team of security staff based in Hong Kong,
  •  support other teams within the Operations Department, and
  •  develop relationships within the Asia security industry community.

They will have the following qualifications and experience:

  •  University educated, with a background in security industry, policing or armed services,
  •  Qualification or appropriate experience in Health and Safety management and Business Continuity,
  •  Proven crisis management capabilities, with the ability to retain objectivity when supporting others in times of crisis or other emergency,
  •  Excellent organisational qualities with experience of facilitating progressive and collaborative change,
  •  Experience of managing security contractors, and
  •  Good working knowledge of security systems and design
