Divisional Merchandising Manager (Fabric & Raw Materials)

Our client is a market leader in supply chain management, providing services to worldwide market.  One of its business units that dedicates in serving notable American and European fashion retailers is looking for a Divisional Merchandising Manager to manage the Asian development and sourcing activities.



  • Collaborate with customers, designers and merchant partners in identifying core, key, and novelty fabrics that meet the fabric strategy.
  • Proactively work with customers' design and product development teams, as well as internal parties to set overall direction.
  • Participate in presentations during the development of seasonal concepts.
  • Research and stay abreast of aesthetic fabric trends and technological developments.
  • Build and update the fabric library while guiding the maintenance of the library and database.
  • Suggest and drive creative solutions to fabric pricing challenges.
  • Identify key strategic fabric mills from various geographic regions.
  • Ensure the company is aligned with market leaders who are investing in equipment, systems and human capital that are constantly adding value and offering the best possible value proposition in the market.
  • Demonstrate good network to fabric traders and mills, and provide alternatives to convert expensive fabrics for top brands into commercial fabrics.
  • Evaluate existing and future material suppliers, with the use of performance reports on a quarterly basis, and to provide feedback to both customer and vendors regarding the performance and advise on corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations to vendor management and assess the overall abilities/capabilities of all the suppliers.
  • Forge relationships with mills/vendors globally while developing and maintaining existing relationships through ongoing communication.
  • Participate and engage senior management in discussions and meetings related to overall global strategic discussions that relate to the customers' needs.
  • Participate in discussion with divisions of other business units as and when needed.
  • Lead and manage the team to achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with vendors for price, quality, quantity, develop procurement plans and formulate sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain the standard and quality of raw materials and develop quality standard manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.



  • Diploma or Degree in Clothing, Textile Merchandising or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant experience with at least 3 years in managerial level.
  • Candidate must have solid experience in fabric sourcing and development, energetic, fresh mind and innovative thinking.
  • Able to work under pressure, result oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive and detail minded
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the team as a good team player, communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks environment.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
  • Can easily use Microsoft office programs.
  • Willing to travelfrequently.
