DWS has been embarking on a significant investment and upgrade of our Client On boarding Platform and this position will play a key role in the transformation of the client implementation and client service experience for APAC clients.

Client Service Operations acts as an advocate for both the client business and the internal stakeholder, to ensure activities are executed in a consistent, effective and risk-controlled fashion.

Client Implementation, as part of Client Service Operations is focused on owning and coordinating successful new account set-up and ongoing changes related to international institutional client activity and distributor arrangements. The team is responsible for managing the implementation pipeline, setting priorities on behalf of Coverage, and overseeing the development of platform solutions to expand our proposition.

In the KYC role the Manager will primarily be responsible for ensuring that all new client relationships for DWS have undergone the appropriate client identification screening as mandated by DWS’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) procedures. The Manager will work closely with Regional Compliance and Sales as well as its counterparts in other regions.

Consequently, we require an experienced professional who can collaborate closely with Business Heads across Sales and the platform, and who understands the front-to-back lifecycle. The Manager must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments, communicate effectively with internal staff and clients, and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner. Follow-through skills and project and time management are critical elements of this position.

Key responsibilities:

Client implementation:

  • Facilitation and chairmanship of launch and on-going multi-party meetings incorporating all stakeholders
  • Project management and ownership of new and change events
  • Coordination of capabilities assessment at RFP/Opportunity stage
  • Management of non-standard requirements
  • Issue log management and escalation
  • Co-ordination of budgetary requirements
  • Management of priorities and stakeholders to ensure operational readiness
  • Oversight and resolution coordination of post funding activities and remediation of historic implementation issues
  • Client Due Diligence:
  • Performance of required Know Your Client (KYC) / Know Your Intermediary (KYI) screening on new clients by documenting and corroborating the information obtained on the client as required by DWS’s KYC/KYI procedures utilizing a variety of independent research sources
  • Analysis of Client data, documentation and negative news in order to determine Client Risk Profile as established under the KYC Procedures
  • Responsibility for reviewing and ensuring all required AML / KYC/KYI Regulatory requirements for new clients are met
  • Performance of Client account periodic reviews and remediation efforts as required
  • Special projects

Expertise / experience / personal attributes

  • Long-standing expertise in institutional asset management with focus on Operations and risk-related roles
  • Track-record in implementing and transitioning institutional mandates would be an advantage
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work streams preferred
  • Good knowledge of investment products including vehicles, asset classes, platforms and relevant processes along the entire asset management value chain
  • Strong track record of working with different teams in order to meet or exceed tight deadlines
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in previous endeavors and a high quality educational background (university degree). CFA designation a plus
  • Ability to assess complex problems, articulate the challenge to different audiences and identify suitable solutions
  • Excellent organization and comfort working in a flexible/ fluid manner
  • Strong desire for excellence and self-motivation, coupled with a strong team player orientation
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Experience and comfort in dealing with senior business heads
  • Excellent MS/Office skills
  • Language fluency in English, other Asian languages is a plus
