Deutsche Asset Management in Asia Pac (ex Japan) is part of a global organization providing discretionary and advisory asset management services. In Asia Pac these services are provided to institutional and retail intermediary clients. Asset Management Offices are located in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Taipei (through a JV) and in Seoul. This role will be based in Hong Kong.

Client Service is part of the Sales Coverage division of Deutsche AM. The role is to principle be responsible for the maintenance & enhancement of client relationships through provision of timely and efficient on-going client service. Secondary functions will be to provide support for the Sales Coverage and Client Implementation functions.

People Management Work closely with Product Specialists and key stakeholders to cross-sell products across the Active, Passive & Alternatives platforms.

Role Responsibilities and Tasks

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Grow Deutsche AM market share in the country in line with regularly agreed targets, with a focus on Private Bank segment.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to existing PB sales team in Singapore and Hong Kong, and manage relationships at the most senior level of partner organizations.
  • Develop plans to retain existing AUM.
  • Will be reporting to the Head of Coverage in Hong Kong & responsible for jointly executing an aggressive growth plan for this business in Asia ex-Japan
  • Working closely with the Global Head of Private Bank, foster and maintain close working relationships across global sales coverage teams covering Global PBs ensuring common goals are met.
  • Strategy and business planning and reporting to Regional Head and Global Head of Sales coverage.
  • Stay on top of local market, product and regulatory trends and feedback to senior leaders
  • Develop product ideas to attract new assets, in collaboration with product and investment teams.
  • Work closely with Product Specialists and key stakeholders to cross-sell products across the Active, Passive & Alternatives platforms.

  • Needs to be detail-oriented given the nature of the business with good understanding of client wallets, industry opportunities and experience of having worked on or built similar business in the past.
  • Occasional travel

Experience/ Exposure

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ equivalent sales/ business development experience
  • Strong track-record in raising AUM, particularly from new product ideas.
  • Strong stakeholder endorsement from clients. Ability to develop successful relationships with clients, strong client service focus and ensures quality service
  • Proven ability to collaborate well with others in a team environment.
  • Solid knowledge of mutual funds and investment solutions particularly in the Intermediary market
  • Prior experience of having people management responsibilities in a similar function

Education/ Qualifications

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with Hong Kong regulator to perform regulated activity
