Corporate Leadership

Sanjay Varma: Sanjay founded JMATEK Group in 2007, and led it as CEO for over 5 years. In 2013, Sanjay transitioned to Vice Chairman role and now focuses on corporate strategy and corporate governance. Previously, as VP of Business Development, Sanjay was on the top leadership team at in its early days. Sanjay started his career with McKinsey & Company in India and also worked with the family trading business, Oriental American Jaima in Hong Kong. Sanjay has an undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. In 2013, Sanjay was awarded the "Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award" by Enterprise Asia for his leadership in building JMATEK into a global leader in home comfort and energy efficiency.

Naresh Kumra: Naresh joined JMATEK in April 2013 as Group CEO through a Management Buy-In (MBI). During 2006-12, Naresh was President - Asia Pacific with Belden Inc., an NYSE-listed technology company. During Naresh’s tenure, Belden Asia Pacific grew from US$50 million sales, 6 sales offices, 65 people trading operation to US$350 million sales, 50+ sales office, 5 plants, and 2500 people operation. Previously, Naresh spent 6 years with McKinsey & Company in New York area, advising corporations and private equity firms on variety of business issues. Naresh started his career with Schlumberger’s electronics business in France, and held several positions in France/India over 6 years. Naresh has a B.Tech. in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and an MBA from Darden Business School at University of Virginia (UVa). Naresh is actively engaged in promoting entrepreneurship and education. In 2009, Naresh was awarded the "Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award" by Enterprise Asia for his leadership in building leading businesses in the Asia Pacific region. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify operational and logistical challenges for set up e-commerce platform in China.
  2. Set up the Jmatek / Honeywell Tmall, JD shop, manage online sales and marketing across multiple marketplaces in China Market.
  3. Formulate the e-commerce strategy, oversee and manage the marketing budget to deliver positive ROI
  4. Develop the operation of the e-commerce platform, including coordinate with logistic and inventory control, payment gateway, customer services and internal user training etc
  5. Collaborating with the Regional Marketing Manager to optimize campaigns and creative content based on traffic performance and behavior on e-commerce website
  6. Plan for e-commerce development and online marketing to support the growth of the business
  7. Consolidate and sharing consumer insight on home comfort products in the market
  8. Work closely with local & regional teams to drive digital marketing excellence
  9. any ad hoc project as assigned


  1. University graduate or equivalent with minimum 5 years e-commerce experiences
  2. Solid experience in e-commerce business with good understanding of e-commerce models and tools
  3. Experience in new business development for both planning and implementation in the marketplace.  
  4. Able to work with multiple cross functional groups, including finance, logistic
  5. Strong marketing sense in the online environment.
  6. Good problem-solving skills, self-motivated, independent and responsible.
  7. Fluent in English and Mandarin will be an advantage
