Exponent's Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice is currently hiring for an Engineer/Scientist in our Hong Kong, China office.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Performing electrical engineering analyses consulting related to ongoing Exponent work

  2. Preparing technical proposals and pursuing business developments

  3. Conducting failure analysis and design reviews of consumer electronics

  4. Managing and executing complex projects

  5. Performing factory/manufacturing auditing and engineering analyses for batteries, electrical components and consumer electronics

  6. Developing test protocols and applying existing standards for testing of electronic devices and systems

Qualifications for this position include:

  1. M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field, preferably from a university in the U.S. or U.K.

  2. Preferred specific expertise includes electronic components, semiconductor devices or integrated circuits, power electronic design and manufacturing, battery charging systems, battery technology or related field and electrical systems

  3. Experience in failure analysis, manufacturing or reliability of electronic components or systems is a plus

  4. Hands-on experience with electronics bench designing, testing and debugging is a must

  5. Must possess effective leadership skills with the ability to interact with managers, engineers, attorneys and other administrative staff

  6. Relocation to Hong Kong, China

  7. Ability to speak and write effectively in English

  8. Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin) or have significant experience doing business in China
