Engineer II (Smart Metering Systems) (Ref: CS-M-EII-SMS-CT)

Reporting to the Meter Engineer, the appointee will mainly perform the following responsibilities:

  • To assist in supervising and carrying out the work related to the design, development, test and commissioning, operation and maintenance of the Remote Meter Reading (RMR) system, the Head-End System and Meter Data Management System (MDMS) for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
  • To manage a small IT network, support the cybersecurity related work and perform auditing for safety, quality and asset management systems
  • To perform various technical assignments such as job planning, procurement, quality control, evaluations and testing of hardware and software of metering related devices, and managing the equipment and accessories for site work
  • To assist in preparing tender specifications, evaluations and recommendations for projects, reports and other documentation


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines with qualifications leading to Corporate Membership of HKIE
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in the electrical or electronic function, ISO quality and asset management systems, computer programming or electrical circuit fault analysis
  • Good Knowledge of Metering principles and electrical system design, Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations and other related legislations
  • Good command of English and Chinese languages, both spoken and written
  • Holder of a valid driving license for Class 1 preferred

Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for the position of Engineer III.
