As a strat who sits in the Securities Division, you will play an integral role on the trading floor. You may create cutting-edge derivative pricing models and empirical models to provide insight into market behavior, or develop automated trading algorithms for the firm and its clients. You might be involved in analyzing exposures and structuring transactions to meet client needs, or involved in designing and developing complex parallel computing architectures, electronic trading tools, and advanced algorithms. Throughout the Securities Division, strats are using quantitative and technological techniques to solve complex business problems.

Job Summary
  • Develop automated Credit & Rates trading algorithms / work-flow automation for the firm and its clients, taking an active role in the shift from voice to electronic trading. Covering market-making, order routing and hedging
  • Experience full life-cycle exposure: research / modelling, implementation / testing, support / maintenance
  • Use statistical techniques to conceive, design, analyse, and measure electronic trading strategies
  • Acquire, clean, maintain and analyse data sets to identify trends & patterns
  • Work as part of a global team
Implement software using GS-proprietary technologies and Java

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful members of our team hold Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline. We are interested in bright individuals who have advanced mathematical and computational backgrounds, a willingness to learn about finance and who possess skills in the following areas:
  • Technology: experience building large-scale distributed systems, implementing fundamental algorithms and working with different programming languages - C / C++ / Java
  • Finance: understanding of market dynamics and conventions, and of different products' behaviors and specifications
  • Mathematics: understanding of time series analysis, statistics, data mining and numerical techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with an object oriented programming language in a commercial role and/or electronic credit/rates experience
  • Top candidate from a leading academic institution
