Examinations Invigilator

We are looking for part-time hourly paid invigilators to work for the British Council mainly during weekends for IELTS or Cambridge English examinations.

Candidates should have the following competencies:

  • Patient and are able to deal with children aged 4 or above
  • Detail-minded
  • Punctual
  • Polite and pleasant
  • Able to work as a team
  • Able to give clear bilingual instructions verbally (Cantonese & English, Putonghua an advantage) and in writing (Chinese & English)

We offer an hourly rate of HK$79-99, with working hours fall mainly on Saturdays and/or Sundays, subject to operational needs. Qualified invigilators are required to sign up for invigilation work regularly throughout the year. 

To become a qualified invigilator, you are required to:

  • Complete and pass an online invigilator training (by 17 Jan 2017)
  • Attend and complete a face-to-face training workshop (week of 16 Jan or on 4 Feb 2017)
  • Undertake a Sexual Conviction Records Check (SCRC) with the Hong Kong Police Force and provide the British Council with access to the result
  • Sign up for invigilation work at least once every month throughout the year
  • Make available for additional briefings/trainings if required.
