The Role Responsibilities

Good understanding of the Bank’s governance and risk structure, CCIB businesses and strategy, the Bank’s network, and stakeholders in a position to aid the execution of the Sustainable Finance (SF) strategy. Experience leading virtual teams across multiple disciplines and managing senior stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills highly developed written and verbal communication, strong drive and detail oriented with the ability to influence at all levels of the Bank.

Will provide leadership and management:

  • Together with the Head of Sustainable Finance and Head of Strategic Initiatives, develop and regularly review the aspiration and strategies for the CCIB SF business globally.
  • Seek new opportunities to develop and grow the aspiration and strategies, within the framework of a prudent and well-managed risk environment.
  • Oversight of significant technology led transformation programmes and delivery portfolios
  • Manage relationships and engagement at all levels of the business.

Key Accountabilities

People Management

  • Provide leadership to inspire high quality project management services and delivery to time and cost budgets.
  • Manage supply and demand with key stakeholders and assign work to appropriate business/function across the bank
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned programmes to achieve the set objectives and required business
  • Ensure project objectives, outcomes, constraints are clearly defined and understood by key stakeholders.
  • Supervise the creation and tracking of the project plans, risk management and reporting.
  • Manage the execution of 3rd parties involved in the delivery of the programme
  • As a point of escalation act to resolve key risks and issues.
  • Provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders on progress so there is clarity on status and actions can be steered to mitigate and resolve issues/risks


  • Work closely with the Global Head of Sustainable Finance and the Head of Strategic Initiatives, Sustainable Finance to develop and execute the CCIB Sustainable Finance strategy that would make SC the Bank best known for Sustainable Finance by our clients and other stakeholders
  • Work with internal and external engagement partners to fine tune and execute the strategy encompassing actions such as implementing product introductions, specific sector actions, resourcing and capital allocation, withdrawal actions, transition framework
  • Ensure project deliverables are prioritised across CCIB businesses and functions
  • Help identify and translate near and medium-term implications to implementation


  • Build effective links with CIB businesses (CC, TB, FM, CF, COO)
  • Working with Finance, the COO chain and Product teams to develop the correct MIS and reporting to enable progress to be tracked across revenues, transactions, and assets for disclosures/reporting related to Net Zero plan.

Risk Management

  • Ability to identify operational risk for new products and new business, regulatory and thematic risks, and the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate these risks.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable policies or designing them jointly with the businesses when required.


  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

  • Degree (BA or equivalent)
  • Extensive banking experience
  • Experience in Sustainable Finance Preferred
