The CUHK Business School, a leading global business school in Hong Kong, seeks to appoint a high-calibre candidate to the position of Executive Officer I/II.  Since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1963, the CUHK Business School has gained world recognition of nurturing business leaders with immense contributions in Asia Pacific.  The School has been offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (MBA, MSc, EMBA, MPhil and PhD) with over 4,600 students, as well as executive education.  As a pioneering business school in Asia, it has one of the most extensive alumni networks in the region, with over 34,000 alumni around the world.  To cope with the ever-growing international MBA Programmes, a high-calibre and experienced professional is now invited to join the Programmes.  The appointee will play an important role in working with a dynamic team leading the rapid development of the MBA Programmes.

Reporting to the Administrative Director (Student Experience and Development), the appointee will be responsible for (a) monitoring academic and programme administrative matters, e.g. developing and conducting pre-term orientation programmes, co-ordination of course delivery and administration, curricular development, programme review, assurance of learning, communication with professors, etc.; (b) managing student affairs, such as academic advising, making arrangement of student trips, communication with students on academic-related matters, etc.; (c) handling internal and external liaison works; (d) providing committee services; (e) supervising staff; and (f) performing ad hoc tasks as assigned. Working flexible hours and travelling outside Hong Kong will be required.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: http://www.per.cuhk.edu.hk/JobVacancies/LanguageforEO.aspx; (iii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification administrative experience, some of which must be gained from educational institutions; (iv) a good command of English and Chinese; (v) good knowledge of MS Office software (e.g. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint); (vi) strong communication and interpersonal skills; (vii) strong organisational skills and analytical capability; (viii) a strong sense of responsibility and integrity; (ix) high self-motivation and the ability to perform daily job duties with minimum supervision; (x) the ability to work both independently and as a team; (xi) a pleasant and cheerful personality; and (xii) the ability to provide proactive and creative solutions.  Those with more than 8 years’ relevant post-qualification executive experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity commencing in August 2018 or as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
