Expanscience Laboratoires ( ) is an independent French pharmaceutical and dermo-cosmetics laboratory that develops and manufactures innovative osteoarthritis and skincare products. Expanscience Laboratoires has more than 60 years of history and enjoying fast growth in about 90 countries and annual sales turnover of more than 270M Euro and growing.

Expanscience dermo cosmetic category with their flagship brand Mustela, (European leading brand in skin care products for babies, children and young mothers), has been developing at a strong double digit growth rate in APAC through a network of exclusive importer/distributors.

Expanscience Laboratoires offers also comprehensive treatment for people suffering from osteoarthritis through its Pharmaceutical brand Piascledine sold internationally.

They are now looking for a high caliber for the role of Area Sales Manager SEA (Distributors markets only) for Mustela and Piascledine, to be based in regional office in HK.

Objectives and responsibilities
  • Based in : Hong Kong / Hong Kong
  • Contract : 06/2018 - permanent

Reporting directly to the Regional Director Asia (based in Hong Kong), you are part of a compact regional team (Marketing, Sales administration…). You are responsible for building solid business and trustful partnerships with distributors to meet sales objectives and develop the brands presences in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines,Vietnam and Thailand, by:

  • Identifying and managing the distribution partners in SEA that can be sorted in 3 main profiles (Long terms partner in mature markets/ young distributor in fast growing markets/ newly open or to be open markets).
  • Putting together and implementing all yearly commercial action plan in alignment to each respective distributor’s profile and markets’ specificity.
  • Assisting our distributors to increase the sell-out per door of their retailers and key accounts ( drugstore chains, department stores, specialised baby product retail store, e-commerce specialized platforms).
  • Working in tandem with the regional marketing manager, you help to build a strong brand equity, especially at the point of sales with well identified spaces, marketing activities and POS materials for the brand.
  • Managing your sales P&L, reach your goals in time, and activate correcting actions when necessary.
  • Conducting competitor’ review and market intelligence and handle ad hoc commercial initiative or project.

Your profile
  • You have minimum 6 years of international sales experience of beauty, nutrition, wellness, health supplement branded, baby care products using a network of distributors working with the selective distribution or the drugstore or OTC networks or the Masstige channels.
  • You have minimum 3 years of experience on all or parts of the APAC markets.
  • You have solid communication skills combined with a natural business acumen and enjoy working and building business relations with distribution partners.
  • You have a solid sales drive and good negotiation skills to meet sell-in objective combines with retail and sell out acumen.
  • You are a truly international entrepreneur, and you are looking for an opportunity to develop yourself together with the organization.
  • You like to work in compact and international team.
  • English is a must. Other Asian language are a plus.
  • You are willing to travel more than 40% of your time.
