Faculty Posts for Psychology / Early Childhood Education

Gratia Christian College

Gratia Christian College is registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap. 320) and has started offering degree programmes since 2015. Currently, Gratia is offering three full-time bachelor honours degree programmes, a higher diploma programme, and another at diploma level, with the vision of becoming a private independent Christian university that excels in liberal arts and professional education for developing servant leaders to serve the Chinese and global communities with competence and Christian love.

The College now seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following positions:

For Programme(s) in Early Childhood Education at Higher Diploma level or above

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer

Qualified candidates should:

  • Possess a relevant doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Administration, and Family Process, etc. (Candidates holding a master’s degree in relevant areas and with substantial experience in Early Childhood Education may be considered.)
  • Have good teaching record in tertiary educational setting
  • Demonstrate good track record in research for academic leader / professorial post
  • Have teaching exposure in / managing experience in kindergarten / nursery, which is an edge
  • Be familiar with the local pre-primary education sector, which is a preference

For the Bachelor of Psychology Programme

Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer

Qualified candidates should have:

  • A doctorate in psychology, preferably with teaching experience in tertiary institution;
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor student research, develop course materials, teach undergraduate courses like cognitive psychology, social psychology, personality, educational psychology, organizational psychology, developmental psychology, school counselling; and
  • Interest and potential in research

(It normally requires a doctorate with at least 10 years of tertiary teaching experience and substantive research record for Professor candidates, a doctorate with at least 6 years of comparable teaching experience and good research record for Associate Professor candidates, and 3-year relevant post-doctorate teaching experience with demonstrated research potential for Assistant Professor candidates. Candidates with a relevant Master’s degree can be considered as Senior Lecturer / Lecturer depending on the amount of related experience possessed.)


  • Perform teaching duties; and
  • Carry out research and scholarly activities;
  • Collaborate with members of other departments and programs; and
  • Undertake administrative duties as required.

Terms of appointment:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment would be made on gratuity-bearing contract basis with a possibility for review subject to review. Medical benefits and annual leave will be provided accordingly.
