Key Accountabilities or Responsibilities

  • Drive optimal points of distribution and physical availability of Mars’ brands (for pet category in specialist channel, eg. pet shop) to achieve business and category growth and the unit's perfect store ambitions
  • Achieve excellent execution and drive quality of displays in line with picture of success objectives across all physical locations and outlets
  • Ensure delivery of the NSV growth and coverage targets and key KPI’s, ensuring key learnings and insights are leveraged and built into future thinking
  • Execute effective delivery of the outlet call process to drive optimal in-call effectiveness and maximize in-call ROI, ensuring corrective action is put in place where necessary
  • Negotiate and implement incremental permanent and temporary locations using stock control expertise and supply chain procedures to deliver perfect store picture of success
  • Collate and analyze key KPI data, ensuring all reporting requirements are met on time
  • Continuously drive to improve and optimize availability and conversion through understanding and responding to the needs of customers
  • Develop strong and influential relationships with key customers focused on delivering shopper, channel and category centric solutions which accelerate customer engagement and drive growth
  • Adhere to the unit's Competitive and Health & Safety Policies, ensuring all actions are compliant and in line with its provisions
  • Build a good understanding of Category and Shopper principles and be able to use this knowledge effectively in customer interactions to drive mutual growth


  • Tertiary education
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to build strong and influential relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness, selling and negotiation skills with a demonstrated drive for results and passion for sales
  • Proven track record of driving sales and delivering results and comfortable operating in a KPI driven environment and taking action to address gaps and strive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to challenge the status quo with a can do attitude and effectively apply a mixture of logic and experience to solve problems which results in successful outcomes
  • Driven, self-reliant and resilient, able to to respond and adapt to a fast moving, swiftly changing environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and determine necessary sequence of activities, adjusting them where appropriate and successfully responding to and resolving competing demands
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data from a mix of data sources and translate insights into relevant strategies and tactics (actions / initiatives) and execute in a clear, simple and engaging way
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote environment which requires the ability to work independently towards a team goal and take ownership of results
  • Previous experience in field sales and analytical roles will be beneficial for this role
  • Immediately available will be an advantage
