Finance Change Manager

The Position:

This role will support, apply and implement the Cigna Change Management discipline and operational readiness methodology to support the launch and adoption of a new financial accounting system for Cigna Global Health Care Business covering Europe, MENA, and APAC regions. This role reports to the HELIX Change Management Lead and head of change management for Cigna International Markets. Success will include partnering with Finance, matrix teams and project teams, supporting an operating model for delivering Change Management best practices and driving improvements across Finance in support of furthering the development of a high-functioning and efficient organization, focused on effectively supporting people and processes through change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the new Oracle 12 Enterprise Business solution for finance accounting systems is successfully launched and implemented by
  • Working with finance teams and development teams to define, document, and train Cigna teams on the to-be process
  • Working with Helix change management lead and Helix Communications Lead to develop and execute the finance change management plan
  • Working with Helix testing teams and finance users to develop, manage, and execute the user acceptance testing
  • Represent finance workstream’s change management needs in key forums and to different governance bodies within the program and greater Cigna organization
  • Ability to support on IFRS 17 accounting entries, Manages multiple internal or external stakeholders who initiate systems and or process change that impact Finance
  • Ensures the Finance related processes and system impacts are adequately understood by all these stakeholders such that the change projects are designed ensuring Finance requirements are met.
  • Assists the Senior Manager with Senior Stakeholders management and working with team within the Systems, Process and Change Team

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Strong functional knowledge / experience of, finance and accounting systems, processes, and controls in financial services; health insurance industry experience is preferred but not required
  • Oracle 12 or similar financial accounting system implementation project experience
  • Strong experience with Organizational Change Management or applicable experience preferred
  • Strong sense of risk management and control oriented mindset together with business knowledge to assist in prioritization decisions on resources
  • Strong experience in project management, resource planning as well as change management with mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence
  • Exposure to and understanding of financial services regulations across different jurisdictions
  • Proven ability to successfully drive organizational change
  • Experience and broad knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices; certification in the ProsciR model is a plus
  • Must work well in a matrix environment, including direct reports, internal associates, and consultants
  • Strong presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including training delivery
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organizational structure
  • Ability to easily move between lead role and support role as work is assigned
  • Ability to see the big picture, and operate effectively delivering tactical and strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business and organizational levels


  • Accounting experience is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MA or MS in related field a plus
  • Strong academic background and professional accounting qualification, ACA, ACCA or equivalent, is preferred
