Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Director will lead the Financial Reporting & Operation, Financial Planning & Analysis and Sales Effectives & Marketing Effectiveness functions. The Finance Director will also support the Chief Financial Officer to lead the project management and implementation of IFRS17

The Finance Director will play a key role in the growth strategy of the business, in charge of leading the business planning and forecasting efforts, business performance review, and expense budgeting and analysis. This is a dynamic role and essential to have high initiative, commercial acumen and “growth" mindset that is needed to develop the finance functions for a high growth business, develop structure and discipline for reporting increasingly material business lines (LHB, GHB and GIPMI), and connect with key stakeholders in a complex global structure.

This is also a hands-on role, with the need to approve key transactions, review detail work and reconciliation, and manage day to day operation of the finance functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development and implementation of sound accounting and budgetary policies, procedures, reports, tax planning and effective control mechanisms, including internal audit programs, to ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial, regulatory and operating data, optimal protection of assets, minimal potential risks and maximum contribution to the financial health of the company
  • Develop and implement a monthly profitability analysis by product, distribution channel and business partner
  • Lead the project management for the implementation of IFRS 17 that include coordination with actuarial, financial reporting, IT and external vendor/s
  • Lead and coordinate the planning and forecasting processes, for management’s successful delivery of compelling and ambitious plans that support strategic objectives
  • Lead and coordinate the year end reporting processes, including annual financial statements, IIA regulatory filings and annual returns
  • Analyze and interpret financial information and prepare Monthly Operating Reports in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Oversee expense budgeting, analysis and controls
  • Prepare management presentations such as Business Updates and Reviews, Strategy Meetings, Staff Town Halls, Board Updates
  • Assist CFO with Board and other company secretarial duties, including organizing committee meetings and preparing minutes
  • Support the CFO in other projects as required

Qualifications

  • Top-notch credentials from Actuarial, Finance, Economy or Business Administration background
  • Excellent oral and written English communication is a must. Spoken Cantonese will be a significant advantage
  • Strong experience in FP&A, Finance and/or Insurance industry. At least 10 years’ experience in Financial or Accounting field with preferably 2 years’ management experiences
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel and Word)
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and influencing skills
