Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller and Company Secretary is a senior staff member and plays an integral role in the strategic planning and financial management of our organization. He/she will be responsible for:

  • preparing budgets, financial reporting, budgetary control and ensuring the accounting records are well prepared with accuracy and integrity;
  • compiling and analyzing financial data for the business decisions of top management;
  • preparing accounting and financial, board papers and company secretarial services to our organization, service units and subsidiaries;
  • providing advice and support on financial issues to departmental and divisional Controllers to help them fulfill their financial responsibilities;
  • developing, monitoring and controlling business planning and financial management systems including forecast, reporting, pricing, budgeting, investment planning and execution; and
  • liaising with external stakeholders including government departments, funding bodies, auditors, bankers and legal advisers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree holder in accounting, finance or related disciplines, with professional qualifications (CPA, HKICPA or equivalent).  An advanced degree would be desirable;
  • A minimum of 15 years post-qualification work experience in accounting and financial management including 5 years at senior management level (at the rank of Financial Controller/Chief Financial Officer);
  • Work experience in public services and non-governmental organizations is a definite advantage;
  • Associate Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries preferred;
  • Exposure to corporate finance, and experience in liaising with commercial and investment bankers, external auditors and lawyers;
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-minded with good business acumen, good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese; and
  • Knowledge of ERP (Epicor) system preferred
