Role and Responsibilities:

e-Commerce & Distribution Set-up

  • Establish e-Commerce & Distribution section for new LCC
  • Recruit and develop high calibre team
  • Identify and source appropriate decision-support IT tools
  • Prepare and implement written departmental processes and procedures

Website / e-Commerce channels

  • Play key role in implementation and ongoing optimisation of reservations system solution;
  • Manage the day to day maintenance and ongoing development of the website and other market relevant e-commerce sales channels;
  • Plan the future enhancements, partnerships etc – strategic and tactical - needed to drive customer traffic to the website/other e-commerce channels;
  • Content development and ongoing update
  • Design web based customer service/complaint handling solution
  • Ongoing site surveys, FAQs, terms and conditions update etc.
  • Develop and produce regular site statistics reports on the different facets of the website by region, including: booking analysis, service utilisation – online seat assignment etc.; visitor analysis – including hits, paths through the site, drop off points, conversion, click through etc.
  • Interpret site statistics to focus development and improve conversion rates.

Project Co-ordination

  • Working internally with the key stakeholders, Webmaster and external agencies to ensure the delivery of developments to the website;
  • Liaise with Pricing & RM to maximise effectiveness of fares presentation and bookability, including ongoing promotional activity;
  • Liaise with the financial controller to develop and implement payment options and ensure they work properly via the website.

Ancillary sales

  • Work with Ancillary Sales & Product team to implement negotiated partnerships with hotels, tour operator, car rental and bus companies
  • Liaise with Ancillary Sales & Product Manager to develop appropriate co-branded initiatives online with selected partners;
  • Capture necessary data in support of commission deals with insurance and other service providers and work with Finance department to ensure timely collection

Reservation system account management

  • Day-to-day account management of reservation provider;
  • Create error log system and establish provision of 24-hour support;
  • Liaise with all users of system to establish development pipeline.

Distribution management

  • Day-to-day account management of GDS contracts (If these are to be implemented)
  • Ensure all related systems to support distribution are run seamlessly.

Budget

  • Manage own departmental cost budget ensuring as low as possible;
  • Ensure achievement of e-commerce revenue and channel share targets;
  • Work with Commercial team to achieve overall revenue budget and market share targets.

Management

  • Manage staff and workload to ensure that team operates at maximum efficiency within deadlines;
  • Provide effective coaching and training. Recruit, develop and motivate staff;
  • Provide on-going organisation and supervision of the eCommerce & Distribution team;
  • Ensure and maintain high standard of technical and presentational delivery by eCommerce & Distribution team;
  • Manage and oversee team performance through performance planning, coaching and performance appraisals;
  • Hold direct reports accountable for managing and developing their assignments to ensure the department’s goals are achieved and customers satisfied;
  • Provide on-going feedback to the team to ensure they develop the skills and competencies required for effective planning and individual professional and personal career growth;
  • Motivate and inspire the team by providing them with the information and tools they need to do their jobs well and meet customer expectations;
  • Deal with performance issues, discipline as necessary and address poor standards, ensuring department targets and customer satisfaction are not compromised;
  • Manage headcount, recruiting and deploying resources as required. Ensure the department budget is balanced and the right mix of skills and strengths are being leveraged as effectively as possible
  • Champion revenue maximisation and low-cost ethos and way of working.

Qualifications:

  • Degree holder or above in Business Administration, E-Commerce, IT or related discipline;
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experiences with at least 5 years in managerial level;
  • Knowledge of HTML, web database solutions and understanding of IT infrastructure, PC hardware and software desirable;
  • Project management and personal time management skills, ensuring that work is produced to agreed deadlines and standards;
  • Fluent written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines on several projects;
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in working with people at all levels;
  • Energy and enthusiasm;
