Your mission:

As part of the ID kids Global Sourcing team based in Hong Kong the Global Sourcing Manager is required to build a panel of factories that meet the desirability criteria of the brands, at the cornerstone of this mission is to ensure the vendor panel is socially compliant meets the requirements around social, ethical and environmental criteria.

The Global Sourcing Manager, in support of the Buying offices, will manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, set seasonal capacity targets that deliver the margin targets of the business.

The Global Sourcing Manager must work cross functionally to ensure that the strategies formulated are done so in a consulted manner and align to cross functional strategies across the business.

Key strengths:

  • Technical understanding of garment manufacture including fabric, value adding (dying, printing etc) and washing
  • Hands on ability in assessing factories, this includes assessing factory efficiencies and overall work practices as well as overall quality deliverables.
  • Highly strategic vision
  • Deep understanding of costing and how to have a positive influence in this regard
  • Ability to influence (Decisions, work practices, cost etc etc)
  • An understanding of what “lean" methodology is and ideally demonstrated experience in the practicality of this method.   
  • Cooperation skills in multicultural environment

 

About you:

  • Strong, demonstrated experience in production & sourcing related role in the apparel industry
  • Deep understanding of both the product development timeline and process as well as the production timelines and processes, confident in working in a direct sourced model.
  • Multi disciplined (The Global Sourcing team are generalists and so must be able to work across Knit/Woven product)
  • Passionate and a real capacity of work
  • Able to confidently work at a distance while maintaining deep working partnerships with the French based product team.
  • Ability to establish lean working processes
  • Able to travel frequently
