Graduate Trainee Programme
Our Graduate Trainee scheme launched in 1997, has equipped many young engineers gain professional certification. Participants are fully supported in their efforts to fulfill the requirements of the ‘Graduate Scheme “A" Training’ programme of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Participants are eligible to apply for HKIE membership upon completion of the programme.

Our Scheme “A" Training programme provides registered graduate trainees with the foundation of practical experience necessary to reinforce theoretical knowledge. The programme include training in technical competence, managerial and leadership abilities, business communication skills, ethical and professional matters and social awareness. Trainees are required to work in large-size organisations for two to three years, and earn 45 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training hours in engineering each year.

PYE takes pride in nurturing a new generation of engineers. We go beyond the basic requirements of the Scheme “A" and APC Training schemes by, for example, organising quarterly “Graduate Meeting" sessions for trainees to interact and share experiences. We also organise a quarterly “Technical Meeting" to build up trainees’ all-round abilities. These programmes are constantly updated with valuable new elements that benefit participants. Trainees are entitled to 10 extra days of “study leave" and the sum of $10,000 to study CPD courses organised by authorised institutions. If suitable, the Group may organise temporary training periods at allied companies to broaden trainees’ experience.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Degree holder in Civil / Building / Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical / Structure Engineering or equivalent;
  • Assist the project manager to carry out engineering work, research, analyze, site supervision and coordination;
  • Good command of spoken and written English & Chinese;
  • Good analytical skills and presentation skills;
  • Enthusiastic in developing the career in Civil / Building / Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical / Structure Engineering aspect.
