Headquartered in Hong Kong, Wharf Hotels is the hotel management company for Niccolo and Marco Polo Hotels. The expanding hotel group is seeking a Group Director Engineering with solid engineering experience at the corporate office in Hong Kong. Assisting the Group Director Technical Services, the Associate will be responsible for all group engineering related programmes and initiatives, including but not limited to:

Existing Properties

  • Direct heads of Engineering of all Properties on regular maintenance, technical improvement and Brand Standards conformity;
  • Direct, review and recommend all major renovation of Guestrooms, F&B Outlets, Public Areas, Heat of House and Engineering Plants;
  • Check & endorse Purchasing Requisitions / Purchasing Orders / CapEx proposals submitted by existing Properties;

New Projects

  • Represent Wharf Hotels to attend meetings & presentations with Owners & Consultants;
  • Review & comment on design submissions to assess if Hotel Brand Standards are met;
  • Liaise with Owners, M/E engineers, architects, kitchen planners, AV engineers, lighting designers, acoustic consultants, IT specialists as well as WHM internal departments (Rooms, RB&E, Housekeeping, Engineering, etc.) to resolve operational, technical & maintenance problems;
  • Monitor site progress & workmanship of new and renovation projects;
  • Conduct site observations and prepare technical reports for prospective projects as requested by Wharf Hotels Development Department;
  • Direct heads of Engineering on Testing & Commissioning of MEP systems among Owner’s Projects Team, Consultants, Contractors & Suppliers;
  • Drive the Defects Rectification process and ensure proper handover of systems, documentations, drawings, manuals etc. from Contractors to Hotel Engineering.

Brand Standard & Quality Assurance

  • Review & update technical specifications of the Niccolo and Marco Polo Brands;
  • Conduct Annual Technical Service Audit of existing Properties and coach the Group Technical Manager to perform the audit.

Your Skills:

  • Degree holder in Engineering or any related discipline;
  • Professional qualification of a Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred;
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with strong project management skills;
  • Previous experience in luxury hotels, office buildings, large-scale shopping centers on a similar role;
  • Good in communication and negotiation skills, team player and result-oriented.
