Guest Service Manager

Responsibilities
This position is to manage the activities of a front desk shift ensuring that guests receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition.
• Analyses and approves discounts and rebates
• Analyses the rate variance report to ensure room revenue control
• Ensure front line staff complies with FIT marketing techniques an maximize sales
• Works with Front Office Manager and Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
• Works with Front Office Manager and Director of Finance in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget
• Checks billing instructions and monitors guest credit
• Promotes inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities
• Supports and assists Front Office personnel and all departments at peak periods
• Supervises and direct Reception and Guest Services personnel
• Monitors appropriate standards of conduct, uniform, hygiene, and appearance of staff
• Must be fully conversant with emergency evacuation and fire procedures and ensuring all uniformed staffs are aware of these procedures
• Provides input for Front Office meetings
• Reacts to situations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel
• Responds to guest needs and resolves related problems
• Ensure VIPs and priority club guests receive special attention
• Assists in greeting, rooming, and sending off VIP guests
• Reports directly to and communicates with the FOM on all pertinent matters affecting guest service and hotel operations
• Provides functional assistance and direction to all departments
• Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with hotel departments as required
• Inspects front of house and back of house regularly for cleanliness
• Promotes inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities
• Take action with Property Management Systems (PMS) in emergency situation
• Fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures
• Support to execute all activities that relate to responsible business, such as Green Engage
• Follow hotel safety and security policy and standard

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent
• 3 years experiences in front office / guest services or related discipline including supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good  communication  and  customer service skills
• Proficient  in spoken Cantonese, Putonghua and English
• Cheerful, pleasant and supportive personality
