Main Responsibilities

 (1) Quality of Work

  • Leads kitchen management activities, in cost controls ordering and inventory completion
  • Provides direction for all day-to-day operations, ensuring food is served to the highest standards
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example
  • Receive, read and understand the contents of the Employee Guide to Working with Compass
  • Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety

(2) Sales & Customer Satisfaction

  • Drives menu planning and seasonal refresh to maximizing revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
  • Manages department controllable expenses including food cost, supplies, uniforms and equipment
  • Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently

(3) Food Production

  • Monitors the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • Determines how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays
  • Recognizes superior quality products, presentations and flavor
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards

(4) Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • To take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what they do or what they fail to do.
  • To co-operate with their line manager on HSE matters.
  • To correctly use work equipment, personal protective equipment in accordance with training and instructions provided to them.
  • Not interfere with or mis-use anything provided for HSE purposes.
  • To report HSE hazards, accidents, incidents, illness and diseases to their line manager.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a similar catering environment
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior position, chef d cuisine , sous chef in an international hotel and or corporate hospitality environment.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
  • Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
  •  Outgoing and people oriented, works well with management to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrate strong passion for culinary excellence with ability to create menus for fine dining following current trends to a 5 star level of presentation.
  • Possess innovative mindset and willingness to accept change
  • Commitment to the highest standard of hygiene and food safety standard
  • Qualifications to Industry standard for this position
