Pret is growing and inviting experienced Head of Food Technical to join our fun loving, energetic and passionate team in Hong Kong.

In summary this role focuses on ensuring that all Pret food complies with the mission statement, the law and food safety requirements through establishing and reviewing all systems, processes and standards.

The Head of Food Technical will manage the supply base on quality issues and ensure Pret has the tools to manage and improve the quality of inbound products and ingredients and to provide guidance and advice on food safety and quality issues in shops.

This role will also involve advising shop, the food team on quality issues as well as managing the supply base. It requires not only a high level of knowledge of food technology but also a clear understanding of the Pret mission statement to ensure all products meet the standards.

The role will be required to develop and own the Pret Technical Strategy, responsible for its adaption and supporting its delivery across all Pret current and future markets in Asia.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in the food technical roles in F&B sector, 3 of these at a senior at regional level.
  • In depth knowledge of additives and food chemistry
  • Belief in and passion for the Pret brand values
  • Team leadership experience 
  • Good level of spoken and written Cantonese, Mandarin and English is essential
  • Exposure to overseas would be an advantage
