Role Summary
A key element of RS’s People strategy is to create a regional platform of development plans, processes and tools with a focus and impact on leadership development, culture, values, innovation and diversity of thought. With multiple generations in the organization, RS strives to meet development needs across those generations and various businesses, regionally.
 
The Head of L&T will lead the advancement of leadership capability including key programs and processes such as; succession planning, talent reviews, assessments (360 and behavioural), executive coaching, team building interventions, and the KPIs to measure success.
 
While this role is focused on the leadership pipeline, the position holder needs to be an innovator across the talent management spectrum, capable of designing programs that help manage talent holistically.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead different initiatives on key elements of People strategy, fostering diversity, inclusion and driving innovation.
  • Promote a creative and exciting culture of learning.
  • Provide thought leadership for the design and development of talent management programs needed to ensure the agility of the organization and the effective engagement of people.
  • Closely partner with the People Business Partner community to deliver regional and impactful development programs for the senior management population.
  • Own responsibility for RS’s Learning and Development offerings for various business across the Asia Pacific.
  • Own leadership management of Learning & Development systems, policies and processes including needs analysis, planning, budgeting, recording and reporting.
  • Be an expert in designing and development programs, processes and tools for the leadership population.
  • Identify performance gaps and create solutions to improve individual and team performance.
  • Create and own annual talent reviews and succession planning process and strategies.
  • Assist or lead in the development of programs targeted at improving organizational effectiveness (for example organization planning and design, decision making and empowerment, team cohesion and change management).
  • Contribute to the promotion of Learning & Development throughout RS, developing and improve learning approaches including through coaching and the use of technology.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with external partners and other business leaders and stakeholders to support the efficient and effective operation of the Learning & Development function.
  • Identify new digital solutions that address the learning needs across a mix of generations.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop scalable learning solutions.
  • Manage internal pipeline development and nurture RS talent pools, supporting high potential employees.
  • Track, monitor and report the related metrics, evaluations and impact of solutions.
  • Risk and Control: ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with RS’s regulatory requirements and internal policies.
 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters, MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and deployment of learning activities for employees.
  • Mastered facilitation skills, including business skills training relating to communication and interpersonal skills, presentation skills, leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of resilience and sense of wellbeing.
  • Strong project and program management experience.
  • True ability and experience to work with geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • The ability to embrace and drive change.
  • Organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • A strong track record in working with blended learning.
  • Being cognizant that technology is transforming traditional L&D processes (the move away from intensive full day courses to self-serve, bite sized game / video driven applications).
  • Strategic thinker that gets things done.
  • Effective communicator and influencer with outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
