The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19, twelve programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. . Major Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the appointee will be responsible for leading the Project Office in implementing the strategic initiatives of the Institute. He / she will assist the Institute’s management in the planning, development and implementation of strategic projects aligning with the vision and mission of THEi, and provide support to other business operations and projects across THEi. The appointee is also required to perform other duties as assigned by the Institute’s management.

Requirements:
The candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, with practical experience in managing and executing a variety of academic-related / industry collaboration / consultancy / research / special projects in higher education institutes; with solid experience in design and development of various academic / continuing professional education programmes, and undertaking related programme leadership and administration functions. He / she should have proven records in implementing strategic projects in the tertiary education sector, with good understanding of the current and future development of vocational and professional education and training in higher education; proactive attitude, high motivation for new project development and willing to meet challenges; strong leadership with effective supervisory skills; strong organizing and project management abilities to manage multiple priorities; and high proficiency in both oral and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:
(1) Candidates may be appointed on fractional, short term or part-time employment.
(2) The post is in the rank of Assistant Professor.
(3) Candidates who could not meet all the requirements might be appointed at a lower rank.
(4) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(5) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
