HR Assistant Manager

Job Description and responsibilities
  • Own and drive the recruiting strategy and hiring results in partnership with department leaders (Operations, Finance and Accounts, Business Development, IT), including but not limited to:
  • - Consult with hiring managers on recruiting process, strategy and expectations
  • - Build strong pipelines of candidates through a network of professional contacts, online resources (LinkedIn, ) and internal resource, manage TEC Employee Referral Program
  • -  Primary contact for job postings, review candidates' resume, arrange interviews, generate candidate offer letter correspondences, employment contracts and perform reference checks
  • - Attract, assess, and hire top candidates through a full life cycle recruiting process – ensuring that every candidate has an unrivalled interview and onboarding experience
  • Build and execute an internship or Management Trainee program as strategies to identify and develop entry-level talent for future talent needs
  • Work closely with department leaders to assess in-house talent and create strategy to identify and retain current talent as well as attract outside talent to the business; prepare exit strategy for non-performers
  • Support Compensation and Benefits (C&B) administration, including payroll calculation, sales commission check, payroll payment processing, payroll reconciliation, medical, MPF and taxation
  • File and maintain employee documents/information, including personnel files and HR information system, leave records, payslip and annual tax return
  • Handle on/off boarding arrangements
  • Maintain company organization chart, keep track of headcount and payroll costs, handle annual budget, prepare various HR reports and analysis for management review
  • Respond to teammates' questions and HR inquiries, including employment visa, employee benefit and HR policies
  • Establish wage and salary structure,  performance appraisal, pay policies
  • Oversee mid-year and annual review process, keep proper employment and performance record
  • Handle visa application and extension process for expatriate
  • Provide recommendations to enhance teammates' wellbeing, plan Company event such as annual dinner, team building activities, first aid training and address employees' complaints
  • Plan and execute on contingency measures (e.g. Covid-19, Typhoon)
Job Requirement
  • University degree or equivalent (preferably main subject HR Management)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years progressive work experience in the field of HR (preferably in sizable multinational company)
  • HR Capabilities: Individual and collective labour law. HR Subject Matter Expert and basic employee relations
  • Business Capabilities: Commercial awareness, customer focus, basic understanding of business its value chain and key processes
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize in a fast paced environment and a good team player
  • Gives support and high-level HR service, challenges, listens and understands needs and provides solutions. Customer oriented, approachable and strong interpersonal skills
  • Mature, well-organized, a self-starter with enthusiasm and initiative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese and Putonghua
