A rare opportunity for an all-rounded HR candidate to serve as the primary HR Officer in Hong Kong. Candidates must have hands-on payroll experience.

Client Details

Our client is a leading financial institution offering tailor-made solutions, products, and services to customers across corporate, investment, and personal banking. They are looking for an all-rounded HR candidate to head up their Hong Kong office.


Working closely with the regional HR team in Singapore, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Review current processes and procedures to ensure alignment with group strategies and local requirements
  • Handle a wide range of HR operations including payroll processing, recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Manage full payroll processing and administration for about 50 headcount
  • Support staff throughout employee life-cycle handling contracts, employee relations, policy interpretation, and coordinating benefits locally
  • Preparation of contracts, working visas, on- and off-boarding arrangements, and MPF enrolment
  • Support the recruitment team with interview scheduling - liaising with candidates, managers and/or their assistants to book interviews
  • Maintain personal employee files, HRIS data, employment letters, and other employee documentation
  • Manage and develop relationships with external vendors
  • Be the main point of contact for any HR-related enquiries in Hong Kong
  • Participate in regional and/or corporate projects as assigned


  • Degree holder in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or other related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a generalist or C&B-focused HR role, payroll experience is a must
  • Experience in banking and financial institutions preferred
  • Extremely organised, detail-oriented, flexible, and ability to multi-task
  • Proactive team player with ability to work independently and good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Immediate availability is preferred
